Hi, I’m Steve Harper – a GB Paraclimbing athlete and founder of ClimbCare. Climbing has given me so much, and now I’m chasing the biggest dream of all: to represent GB Climbing at the LA 2028 Paralympics.

Competing internationally is an incredible honour, but it also comes with big costs. From training sessions and physio, to specialist equipment, travel, and competition fees – it all adds up very quickly. Unlike many sports, paraclimbing doesn’t have the same level of funding available, which means athletes like me need to cover all of these expenses ourselves.

Right now, I compete in the RP2 classification, but with my progressive condition (FSHD), I expect to be reclassified into RP1 – the category included in the Paralympics – as soon as next year. That means my path to LA 2028 is very real, and I’m determined to get there.
